Die Sonne im Bild
The Sun in the Painting
The Sun in the Painting
Camfield schlägt in Camfield 1979, S. 272 und im Ausst.-Kat. New York 1970, S. 44 vor, dass das Gemälde entweder von den abstrakten Werken der Jahre 1938–1939 inspiriert ist, oder dass ein solches Gemälde als Grundlage für eine Überarbeitung diente, bei der Picabia die Sonne auf die Malschicht setzte und eine Art Firnisschicht darüber auftrug ("super-imposition of a sun spot and a resonant film of color").
